From 1st Corinthians 13
If only I could love
In all the fullness of the word,
I would need no other power
From the Lord.
I would not have to sacrifice
To prove my worth to all.
Neither would I jump and scream,
Nor prophesize man's fall.
I would not likely move a mountain
By faith nor man's machines.
Nor would I overwhelm the world
By any other means.
I would only love.
And, in loving, understand.
And caring, do my very best
Not to found my love on sand.
But build it in a solid place
Where eternity exists
That I might go on caring still
When all is gone but mist.
